1:2. Dziang sien-chŭ I-sæ-o so sia-keh, sheh-dao: Ngu tang-fah ngu-keh ts‘a-nyen, lah næ-keh mien-dzien, yü-bæ næ-keh lu. | 正如先知以賽亞書上記著說、 | It is written in Isaiah the prophet: “I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way” . | |
1:3. Hwông-ya-li iu nyen-keh shen-in han lao sheh, yü-bæ Chŭ-keh ka-dao, choh-djeh li-keh lu.̤ng duŏh sŏ̤h iông gâu-gâu gì duâi-ĭ. | 在曠野有人聲喊著說、預備主的道、修直他的路。』 | “a voice of one calling in the desert,‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’”. | |
1:4 Iah-‘ön lah hwông-ya-li ‘ang si-li, kông hwæ-kæ-keh si-li, i-chŭ dzæ-nyih teh-djah nyao-so.̤ sĕng gáe̤ cī ciéh nè̤ng gâe̤ng duâi-ĭ táung lâi gó̤, cêu sáung diê-nè̤ng buōng-sê̤ṳ duâi. | 照這話、約翰來了、在曠野施洗、傳悔改的洗禮、使罪得赦。 | And so John came, baptizing in the desert region and preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. | |

Yiu-t‘a dzien-sang, tah-ts Ya-lu-sah-len-keh nyen, dzæ ch‘eh-læ tao li djang-hwo, nyen-ts dzæ lao, lah Iah-dan ‘u-li zheu li-keh si-li. | 猶太全地、和耶路撒冷的人、都出去到約翰那裡、承認他們的罪、在約但河裡受他的洗。 | The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River. | |
1:6. Iah-‘ön chah loh-du-mao i-djông, yong bi-ta soh-iao, ky‘ih wông-djong lao ya-mih, | 約翰穿駱駝毛的衣服、腰束皮帶、喫的是蝗蟲野蜜。 | John wore clothing made of camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. | |
1:7. kông lao sheh: Iu ih-keh nyen lah ngu i-‘eu læ-keh, pi-ngu ken iu nen-lih, dziu-z li-keh ‘a-ta, ngu ia feh p‘æ eu-‘o-ky‘i ka-k‘æ. | 他傳道說、有一位在我以後來的、能力比我更大、我就是彎腰給他解鞋帶、也是不配的。 | And this was his message: “After me will come one more powerful than I, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. | |
1:8. Ngu meh yong sh tæ ng-toh ‘ang si-li, doh z li iao yong Shen Lin tæ ng-toh ‘ang si-li.̤k-káik cêu ciŏng hī iông duâi-ĭ táung lŏ̤h lì. | 我是用水給你們施洗、他卻要用聖靈給你們施洗。 | And this was his message: “After me will come one more powerful than I, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. | |
1:9. Tông-zh, Yasu dzong Ka-li-li-keh Nô-sa-leh læ, lah Iah-dan ‘u-li zheu Iah-‘ön-keh si-li.̤ duâi. | 那時、耶穌從加利利的拿撒勒來、在約但河裡受了約翰的洗。 | I baptize you withd water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.” At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. | |
1:10. Dziu dzong sh-li zông-læ, li k‘ön-kyien t‘ien lih-k‘æ-læ, Shen Lin dziang keh-ts kông-tao li shen-lông.̤ duâi. | 他從水裡一上來、就看見天裂開了、聖靈彷彿鴿子、降在他身上。 | As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. |
